An active turbine  [ən `æktɪv ˈtɜː.baɪn] – a turbine that converts the potential energy of the working fluid (gas, steam, liquid) into kinetic energy in devices with a fixed nozzle and uses this energy to perform useful work in the working parts of the turbine.

Ex. The active turbine efficiently powers the ventilation system, ensuring a continuous supply of fresh air throughout the mining tunnels.
