Сadmium coating /ˈkæd.mi.əm ˈkoʊ.tɪŋ/ – anodic and electrochemically protects steel from corrosion in the atmosphere and sea water, and mechanically in fresh water. To apply cadmium coating to a product, the electrolytic deposition method is used. The thickness of the coatings is usually 9-25 microns. The coating has strong adhesion to the base metal, good anti-friction properties, and low wear resistance.
