Adsorber [əbˈsɔːbə] – the main mechanism of the adsorption device. There are intermittent and continuous types. In industry, there are more continuous types of adsorbers (called hypersorbers); in which the granular adsorbent moves in a vertical column. Adsorption occurs in the upper part of the column, and desorption occurs in the lower part due to heating.
Ex. During periodically rich regeneration events, NH3 can be generated over a NOx adsorber catalyst.
