Adsorption

Adsorption [ædˈsɔːrpʃən] – (Latin ad – on, with, in; sorbeo – absorb) – absorption of substances or gases in solution by the surface of a solid or liquid (sorption). The adsorbed  substance is an adsorbate, and the body through which adsorption occurs is called an adsorbent.

Ex. Some processes simultaneously dry and remove active sulfur by adsorption onto molecular sieves.
