Anchor support

Anchor support [`æŋkə `səˈpɔːt], consisting of metal, less often wooden or reinforced concrete struts (bolts, bars), attached to an array of crepe rocks with an anchor crepe rod; protects stones from movement, displacement and destruction. Rock bolts are mainly used to strengthen underground mining structures.

Ex. As the mining engineers excavated the underground tunnel, they implemented anchor support systems to reinforce the surrounding rock and enhance the stability of the excavation
