Diffusion

Diffusion /dɪˈfjuːʒn/ (from the Latin diffusio – spreading, spreading) is the transfer of a substance due to the equalization of its concentration in an initially heterogeneous system. Diffusion is one of the stages of numerous technological processes (adsorption, drying, extraction, etc.). Diffusion occurs in gases, liquids and solids. The mechanism of diffusion in these substances is significantly different.

Ex. In mining, diffusion plays a crucial role in the movement of minerals and ions through rock formations, impacting various extraction and processing techniques.
