Extruder

Extruder /ɪkˈstruːdər/ – (lat. extrudo – to push out) – a machine designed to soften (melt, plasticize) polymer materials and give them the necessary shapes; in which the materials are pressed through the forming channel head of the machine (in the rubber industry, the Extruder is often called a syringe-machine). Worm extruder, whose working body is a rotating worm (screw), is widely used. The following operations can be performed using the extruder: granulation (grinding); taking films and processing them; preparation of sheet and roll materials (for example, materials used for covering floors); production of pipes, hoses, pipes and other profiled products; insulation of metal conductors and cables; covering the surfaces of paper, cardboard, fabric, foils in a thin layer; mixing polymers with ingredients. The process of processing polymer materials in an extruder is called extrusion.

Ex.An auger extruder has the ability to remove unwanted macroscopic air voids within the moldable mixture.
