Pelton turbine /ˈpɛltən ˈtɜrbaɪn/ – a hydraulically active turbine with concave blades (usually 18-26) on the impeller. Water enters the wings (bowls) through a pipe in a circle passing through the middle of the bow. Kt. is used at hydroelectric power plants with a head of more than 500 m; their power reaches 110 MW.
