Stratum (seam) /ˈstreɪtəm (siːm)/ – a stratum or bed of a flat-shaped geological body bounded by two planes parallel to each other or close to each other, the area it occupies is much larger than its thickness, and the composition consists of almost the same sedimentary rocks.
